PLEASE NOTE that the gallery sorts all images in ALPHABETICAL ORDER so updates are quite easy to find if, you know the lis and your ABC. ;)

Also, sometimes it takes a while for the moderators to process each image and submission before the gallery is updated. Please be patient. They're only human. If they had all been elves however... :D


THE TECHNIQUE! I primarily use mechanical pencils for my original drawings, then I scan the pictures and computer enhance the images. Nothing is inked 'cause inking takes too much time and is frankly darn boring! I rarely do computer coloring but I'm fortunate to have several colored version in my gallery made by other talented artists. Lately I've begun to add more shades and shadows on my scanned images.

THE ART! The drawings are all based on Fantasy, which is the genre I’m heavily into for the time being, so that’s all I’ll currently upload and display. However, I do like sci-fi a lot.

HOWEVER, the site that keeps an archive on my past sins and artwork, is planned to be back up around September/October according to my good friend hosting the stuff for me.

True, true! It doesn’t have to be a golden frame, specifically. I (among others) just want an easy-to-spot indicator of New Posts on a gallery, so we don’t have to guess. Maybe it can be gallery specific? Or set in a member’s user preferences, perhaps?

At any rate, if we can get a few people to reply to that thread, we Might be able to get some attention for it.

That, and a few artists making pics taking gentle (or even blatant) pokes at the missing borders could also spread the word.

After all, it Used to be here. Why did it leave, if the code for other Faves is there? Code variants are not all That difficult to implement. Or so my code-monkey friends tell me.

Hey Fredrik,
I just wanted to say I appreciate how much you support Elfwood with your participation. As I browse around to all the different galleries I love that I see your comments there. You are a super contributor in my opinion. I know that you are a great artist too. I have browsed your gallery and you are true artist with a definite style. Personally I don’t cater to the adult subjects. (Not that I don’t love the female anatomy.) Its a bit more sacred to me. I wish there was some way to separate the adult into the non-adult artwork, but then again they may be pushing against your style. Regardless, thanks so much again for your participation.

Yes, I’m quite liberal about nudity in general, although more by principle than style. I respect other peoples views about it as do Elfwood to a level which I am very comfortable with and grateful for.

Remember, Elfwood have moderators viewing every submitted image to insure that any form of nudity is kept within the rules and policy of the site before such images gets uploaded. I really don’t know of any other similar online gallery that does that. It’s actually one of the things I like about Elfwood compared to other online galleries.

I also use the gallery tools and functions to add the right Parental Level on each image that I submit so they can be filtered and blocked if need be. Nudity or violence got the highest setting on that scale so it’s really a no-brainer. I’ve received a few complaints about images being blocked so I know the filter works. 1 "

I’ll watch for it to drop off the visible page from time to time, and re-drop it then, so it doesn’t look too much like SPAM (or any other processed meat product) 12

Nice touch on the Golden Border one as well! Here’s hoping the word gets out, and we see some progress.

I do have to wonder about the Busted Faking it picture, vaguely wonder here. If the wizard thinks a fake star is the most immoral thing ever, What exactly are his standards? I mean unless he his blind, he has seen some of the Bard’s better kids hatched.

:-) Fredrik K T Andersson replies: "I don’t mind, as long as the source and/or artist of the original work is properly mentioned. Asking the original artist for permission is nice, thank you, but rarely possible when it comes to fan art. I see that as an extra treat. 2

You create your artwork at your own discretion according to the reasons, rules and limits you see fit. Creative freedom would be quite impossible to maintain otherwise. I just hope you have fun with any inspiration you can find. Not my place to judge you or stop you there.

However, the final judgment of the mighty Moderators of Elfwood is way out of our puny mortal hands. If necessary sacrifices are to be made, I’ve heard they like peanuts. 12"
